Youth Group

Now that our Youth Group (for 6th to 12th graders) has finished up the "Alpha Youth Series," we are moving on to a new curriculum that we are really excited about! We will be using the youth curriculum from Life Church. The first series we will be covering is called "Hope and Power." There are three parts to the series: Hope & Power, Suffering Hopefully, and Messenger of Hope. Each week we will cover one session. As always, all youth will join corporate worship in the sanctuary then head to the Youth Room for our video/discussion, prayer, and communion. Snacks will always be provided!

The pre-teen and teen years are some of the toughest years of our lives. That was true a generation ago and things are much harder nowadays. Kids are growing up faster than ever. And the culture is constantly bombarding them with messages that steer them away from Christian beliefs and values. That’s why a church’s youth ministry is so critical.

Our goal with the Youth Group (6th thru 12th grade) is to help kids move beyond being Christians by default (because they were born in a Christian home) to owning their faith and living it out in a way that makes an impact in middle school and high school. And in the process, we aim to prepare them to thrive spiritually in their college years.

Youth Group meets on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month during the 11am service.

Over the past several months, our Teens have put their faith in action by volunteering at Friends of Foster Kids on a couple Saturdays and assembling and delivering Thanksgiving bassets full of food to “help those who need help” in Shelby Township. Plus, we had a “just for fun” event at Yates Cider Mill. And in the months to come we are planning game nights, movie nights, additional serving opportunities, and more!
