Since our church launched in 2010, we have given away over $500,000 to individuals and organizations that could use a helping hand. Here is the story….
In dreaming about planting a church, we knew our mission was “Joining God in His work to make His Kingdom come and His will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” This mission is all about advancing the Kingdom of God on earth; a task much bigger than our church! With this in mind, we planned to strategically give to what God is doing outside of our church as well as inside of it.
This is how the “tithe on the tithe” emerged. The “tithe on the tithe” represents the first 10% given to the general offering, and is used to provide benevolence inside and outside our walls!
The following is an overview of the many ways benevolence has blessed those in our church family, the local community, and those in need internationally.
Benevolence
“Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, ‘go in peace; keep warm and well fed, but does nothing about their physical needs,’ what good is it?” (James 2:15-16).
Benevolence is our way of showing compassion and support to those with needs right here in our community, whether it’s people who attend our church or people who come across our path. Here is a small sampling of the ways this money has been used:
